THE CUISINE 

The flavour profiles of 1909 Kitchen are vibrant and fresh – we let the incredible local product we have access to shine through simplicity.  We have day boat access to wild, local line-caught fish and beyond that to hand-foragedingredients from the ocean (sea cucumbers, scallops, urchins, seaweed) and land (plants, wild herbs, mushrooms).   1909 Kitchen is proud to feature a Cook Your Catch program – guests can bring the day’s catch into the restaurant to be prepared and served by the team.  We are proud ofourMugnainiwood-fired oven and to feature pizzas and other wood-fired dishes as part of our culinary program. 

 

THE SPACE:  

1909 Kitchen has three designated dining spaces, the Dining Room with patio,seating 90,TheHatch Waterfront Pub with acapacity of 120and the Upper Hatch (our private event space)accommodatinga total of90 guests.  We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner service daily.  

 

THE SKILLSET: 

Respective candidates should have a proven track record and at least four years of experience as Food and Beverage Manager or similar leadership role. Superior product knowledge is a must, and flavour profiles should be bright, vibrant, and fresh across the cocktail program. Experience and passion for a FOH program which rivals the BOH is a must. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, creative, service-oriented, calm, and passionate. Tofino is a small, tight-knit community, and the Front of House Manager must be personable, keen to build relations with local business owners and the community as a whole. Tofino continues to become a world-class culinary destination and being an exemplary ambassador and advocate of the brand is paramount in thishighly-visibleposition. The F&B Manager should also have the ability to assist in our marketing efforts through participation in cinematography, photography, and social media posts. 

 

THE DIRTY: 

Minimum four years’ experience in a high volume, fast paced hospitality environment 

Proficiency in Squirrel and Optimum Control software to drive maximum yields and stringent inventory control, including managing all beverage deliveries. 

Scheduling, creating & implementing with emphasis on labour control  

Creating, implementing adhering to budgets 

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Sharepoint and Outlook. 

Proficient knowledge of human resources management with emphasis on recruitment and developing retention strategies, team incentives, setting and monitoring performance standards, reviews and following progressive discipline protocols. 

Training and development in new and existing standards and developing SOP’s 

Ensure all public health and WorkSafe BC regulations are being adhered to at the highest levels and ensuring food and beverage safety. 

Participation in the weekly department head meetings and being active member of executive team driving outcomes.

What You Do.

  • Create and execute strategic Marketing Plan for Tofino Resort + Marina and all of it sub brands.
  • Develop and adhere to marketing budget and allocate/invest funds wisely
  • Measure, analyze and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals and ensure all marketing material is in line with our brand identity.

Night Auditor Responsibilities  

  • Report to the Hotel Operations Manager & Accounting Department. 
  • Shift from 11pm-7am. 
  • Responsible for all daily balancing, posting and nightly controls pertaining to the departments at Tofino Resort + Marina. 
  • Verify charges posted from POS software reached the correct guest folio account, supported by documentary evidence and no missing signatures. 
  • Run end of day process in property management software (PMS) and final balancing of departments.  
  • Guest Services, check-in, check-out. Answer reservation calls & posting to guest accounts.

  • Verifies that room rates are correct and posts those rates to guest accounts.

Job Description: 

Core Job Responsibilities & Duties 

  • Load run and unload dish machine. 
  • Keep the dish-washing station clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the manager immediately. 
  • Monitor the dish-washing machine water temperature to ensure a sanitary wash cycle. 
  • Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware. 
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and cook equipment for the kitchen. 
  • Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designated times. 
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss. 
  • Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies. 
  • Clean food preparation and production areas as required. 
  • Other duties as required. 

 

Job Requirements/Qualifications: 

Experience & Qualifications 

  • No previous restaurant experience required. 
  • Be able to work in a hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time. 
  • Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop. 
  • Be able to work in a standing position for a long period of time. 
  • Be able to lift bags, cases and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds.

Tuff Fit Personal Trainer

Are you inspired by adventure? Do you love long sandy beaches, surf, rainforest and a west coast lifestyle? Tofino Resort + Marina in stunning Tofino, B.C. is seeking a certified personal trainer to lead our Tuff Fit fitness program.

This is not a regular resort gym. Tuff Fit is a state-of-the-art fitness centre, with new Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment and breathtaking views of Clayoquot Sound and Vancouver Island’s snow-capped mountain ranges.

We’re specifically looking to work with a personal trainer who will provide fitness classes to Tuff Fit members & TRM’s guests. Think OrangeTheory. Not Crossfit. Seven days a week.

In return for your services, Tofino Resort + Marina will provide exclusive access and use of Tuff Fit for you and your clients. No expense to the personal trainer for use of the gym like traditional models.
