Job Description: 

Core Job Responsibilities and Duties Working in both indoor and outdoor settings.

The maintenance department is responsible for maintaining the functionality and appearance of:

  • The Hotel outlet (rooms, Guest Service building, laundry facility)
  • Restaurant (from painting, to refrigeration and other equipment…)
  • Gym equipment
  • Marina & remote dock
  • Staff Housing
  • Grounds & overall outdoor cleanliness

Management:

  • Hire, recruit, train, and manage Maintenance team members that are inspired by adventure.
  • Prepare and oversee scheduling and payroll for maintenance department.
  • Administer contracts for the provision of supplies and services.
  • Plan, organize and direct administrative services such as signage, cleaning, maintenance, parking, safety inspections, security.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects.
  • Assist in planning and management of the facility’s operations budget.
  • Create and implement the yearly preventive maintenance calendar.
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of reports and statistics related to areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain a risk registry, including maintenance and servicing schedule of all plant and equipment on property. Arranging with contractors when required to service such equipment.
  • Develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Oversee contractors as required.
  • Supervision of all staff housing maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Management of capital projects, coordination with contractors, gathering quote, producing timeline, see implementation of project.
  • Works closely with all heads of department to coordinate and plan projects.

Operations:

  • Skilled and knowledgeable in maintenance operations such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general repairs.
  • Working both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Maintain maintenance department to the highest standard of organization & cleanliness.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of the facilities infrastructures including machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Always follow safety procedures while performing duties. Including safely operating vehicles, tools, machinery and complying with all WCB and Whmis standards of compliance.
  • Oversee and maintain the cleanliness of the exterior resort property ensuring property is upkept with well-groomed landscaping.
  • Inspect and maintain recreational equipment (Adventure Centre and Tough Fit Gym) to ensure proper safety standards are met, completing any minor repairs as needed.
  • Implement a tool and equipment log ensuring security of all such equipment is maintained.
  • Continuously provide strong customer service to guests and to all departments with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
  • Helping in setting up resort wide events.

Guest Services Supervisor

This includes but is not limited to training employees in using computer systems, selling our downstream adventure offerings, applying professional and authentic guest services techniques and handling telephone inquiries. 

Under the direction of the Guest Services Manager, the Guest Services Supervisor will: 

 Job Description: 

  • Oversee the daily operations of Guest Services 
  • High level comprehension of all TRM products + additional offerings 
  • Awareness of all special guest requests, VIP arrivals/ departures, incoming group accommodations, upcoming events on site, active packages, incentives etc. 
  • First point of contact for guests or team members who may be requiring immediate assistance from the Guest Services Supervisor, and/or supporting the Guest Services Manager in following up with guest concerns as necessary
  • Communicating and meeting with the Guest Services Manager to ensure absolute team and guest satisfaction 
  • Contribute to and assist in creating a positive atmosphere for learning + development resort wide 
  • Be the liaison with wholesalers and third-party booking websites with reservations  
  • Accountability of transaction errors; liaising with the Accounting Department/ Night Audit to ensure all errors are rectified 
  • Completion of administrative responsibilities required to maintain the smooth day to day department operations

  • Experience with various OTA extranets

  • Keep the dishwashing station clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the manager immediately. 
  • Monitor the dishwashing machine water temperature to ensure a sanitary wash cycle.

  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and cook equipment for the kitchen. 
  • Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designated times.
