Front Desk Supervisor

Job Description

  •  Supervise the efficient operations of reception including check in/out procedures 
  • Support team members in handling guest requests and enquiries to ensure a positive outcome is achieved 
  • Ensure that the Rooms Division Manager is kept aware of any relevant feedback from Guests and/or other departments  
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times 
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all hotel room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, adventure tours and other general product knowledge necessary to perform daily duties 
  • Intimate knowledge of local area and all resort offerings including adventure tours and restaurant menus  
  • Monitor the standards and performance of the Front Desk Team with an emphasis on training and teamwork 
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire Team Members to exceed standards 
  • Follow and adhere to company brand standards 
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships with all team members
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and physical condition of the front desk and office storage areas 

 Job Requirements

  •  Desire to progress within the Hospitality industry 
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills 
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service 
  • Competent level of IT proficiency with experience using various PMS, CRM and payment processing systems 
  • Must enjoy shift work and be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Housekeeper

Job Description: 

  • Clean guest rooms daily while adhering to company cleanliness standards
  • Maintain, clean, and stock housekeeping storage rooms 
  • Maintain, clean, and stock housekeeping carts 
  • Maintain and clean Resort property and common grounds 
  • Assist in the Resort laundry as required 

 Job Requirements/Qualifications: 

  •  Previous housekeeping experience an asset 
  • Cell phone with Canadian phone plan to communicate with team during work 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required 
  • Comfortability cleaning pet-friendly rooms  
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds. 

Wage/Salary

  • Hourly wage starting at $18.50
Guest Service Agent

Job Description

  • Process guest arrivals and departures, including all necessary payments   
  • Maintain full comprehensive knowledge of room locations, features, rates, packages, and property offerings   
  • Book and accurately describe all Adventure Centre offerings including Hot Springs, Whale Watching, Bear Watching, Remote Floating Sauna, Fishing Charters, the Ultimate Adventure and Remote Kayaking  
  • Assist with check in/out process of groups and tours   
  • Effectively handle, investigate, and resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner   
  • Handle phone, email, and online reservations and inquires   
  • Interact effectively with Guests and Staff to create a positive Resort experience   
  • Attend to room requests when maintenance technicians or housekeepers are not available 
  • Process gift cards and retail shop sales

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Willing to commit to a full-time, year-round, permanent position within the Resort (not seasonal)
  • Previous front desk or customer service experience an asset   
  • Pleasant personality and excellent personal presentation   
  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office programs   
  • Flexibility with shifts is a must. 8 hour shifts typically begin at 7am or 3pm and you will be required to work both depending on business needs

Kayak Guide (Summer 2024)

Our remote kayak excursion is not your standard day trip! Pilot a 30-minute scenic boat ride to our private kayak dock nestled in serene Tofino Inlet, where you will find all kayak gear waiting for you and your guests’ 4.5-hour day trip. Explore a network of small islands surrounded by wildlife and little to no boat traffic before loading back up for a final boat ride back to our marina.   Job Description 

  • Guide groups of up to 6 on 4.5 hour remote kayaking tours up to twice a day  
  • Assistant guide will join for groups above 6 
  • Season expectation April 1st – October 15th, 2024 
  • Piloting vessels with maximum 600hp (twin screw) 
  • Educating guests on local flora and fauna including intertidal species, eagles, seals, black bears, orcas etc 
  • Preparation and daily basic maintenance of equipment for trips 
  • Be well versed in company as well as industry standards – safety, communication, regulations 
  • Guides paid biweekly, based on number of trips guided. No tip pooling 

 Job Requirements/Qualifications  

  • SVOP, MED A3, Marine Basic First Aid & CPR and ROC-M certification required 
  • Level 1 Kayak guide certification required  
  • Positive and self-motivated, able to work well independently and cooperatively with coworkers 
  • Punctual, organized, reliable with effective communication skills 
  • Minimum 1 year experience as SVOP captain 
  • Minimum 1 year experience as kayak guide 
  • Physically fit 
  • Desire to be a steward of the environment  
  • Knowledge of Clayoquot sound and local flora and fauna an asset 
  • Experience repairing fiberglass kayaks an asset

Captains/Guides are paid per trip
