Hotel Operations Manager

Job Description 

  • Responsible for overseeing Guest Services, Group Sales + Events, Housekeeping Operations. 
  • Guest Service includes switchboard, reservations, site security, and night auditor.   
  • Housekeeping consists of the laundry, linen, and the cleaning of rooms and all public areas on the property  
  • Group Sales + Events department is responsible for the sales and execution of all internal and external events on-site   
  • Responsible for a comprehensive strategy, revenue management across the Hotel Operations, execution of dynamic pricing model, weekly dashboards, and KPI’s for the Guest Service team.   
  • Ensure that standards and quality are maintained across all departments, and that guest’s feedback is followed upon. You and your team are responsible for the comfort and safety of all the guests on the property.  
  • Drive sales via Guest Service team to our Adventure + Marine Operations Department. 
  • Responsible for cost reporting, forecasting and budget control within the department    
  • Audit and oversees cash, credit card, and other financial tasks carried out in the Guest Service department, as well as working closely with our accounting department on debtors and creditors queries.  
  • You will report to the General Manager on site.  
  • Manage all travel trade, wholesale contracts, and all third-party booking websites and reservation platforms. 
  • Responsible for CRM – Customer Relationship Management  

 

Job Requirements 

  • Diploma in Hospitality Management   
  • Minimum 3-year management experience in Hotel Operations and senior-level management team experience. 
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task under pressure, and creative problem-solving skills are necessary.   
  • Strong financial acumen to compile budgets and offer financial reporting for each department that falls under this role.   
  • Passion for hospitality, outdoors, and adventure lifestyle. 
  • IT skills – this role demands proficiency in various IT software packages from Microsoft 365, WebRez Pro, Marina Controller, Guest Folio, Mail Chimp, to different accounting and social media management tools.  
  • CRM – Customer Relationship Management 
  • Proficiency in more than one language is also advantageous.  
  • Strong motivational and leadership skills to empower supervisors and managers reporting into this role.   
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License an asset

Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant is responsible for all basic accounting and reports to the Financial Controller.

Junior Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the Accounting Department which handles the hotel, restaurants and marina
  • Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person
  • Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc.
  • Preparing financial reports
  • Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies

  • Keep the dishwashing station clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the manager immediately. 
  • Monitor the dishwashing machine water temperature to ensure a sanitary wash cycle. 
  • Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware. 
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and cook equipment for the kitchen. 
  • Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designated times. 
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.

  • Clean food preparation and production areas as required.

Tuff Fit Personal Trainer

Are you inspired by adventure? Do you love long sandy beaches, surf, rainforest and a west coast lifestyle? Tofino Resort + Marina in stunning Tofino, B.C. is seeking a certified personal trainer to lead our Tuff Fit fitness program.

This is not a regular resort gym. Tuff Fit is a state-of-the-art fitness centre, with new Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment and breathtaking views of Clayoquot Sound and Vancouver Island’s snow-capped mountain ranges.

We’re specifically looking to work with a personal trainer who will provide fitness classes to Tuff Fit members & TRM’s guests. Think OrangeTheory. Not Crossfit. Seven days a week.
