Of Cookies and Cioppino: Two Beauty 1909 Kitchen recipes featured in Island Eats
When Vancouver Island author Dawn Postnikoff decided to create a cookbook highlighting the best of Van Isle’s foodie culture, she grabbed food writing legend Joanne Sasvari and rounded up the most exciting chefs from Port Hardy to Victoria. That list included our very own 1909 Kitchen chef couple Terry Somerville and Kristine Morrow.
The book is a great gift for the holiday season and is full of tasty goodness, “featuring more than 80 signature dishes, from a classic salmon chowder to island-foraged chantarelle risotto, apple pie waffles to bannock ice-cream sandwich, this inspired collection boasts locally-minded, soul-satisfying dishes that readers will want to make again and again.”
