Whale Watching Tours
Calling all adventure seekers and nature dwellers: this tour connects you with the rugged West Coast waters. Take in scenic vistas on your way to whale-feeding grounds near Flores, Vargas and Long Beach. Spot cetaceans, and learn about the region’s dynamic ecosystems. The Pacific Ocean brims with orcas, grey and humpback whales, as well as harbour seals, sea lions, sea otters and porpoises—plus, an abundance of birdlife from puffins and blue herons to bald eagles.
95% of our tours result in a whale spotting. Considering the wild and unpredictable nature of Vancouver Island’s West Coast, we are really proud of this.
If luck, weather, and the almighty universe conspire against us—and you don’t see the wildlife you came for—we will give you The Tofino Promise, a raincheck that guarantees you can come back for free to see the wildlife you deserve, whether on the same day or later in the year.
If there’s an open spot on the boat, it’s yours.

Our spacious but intimate 12 seat boats ensure you are not fighting the crowds to get a glimpse of whales. We guarantee a stress-free and intimate experience making your trip unforgettable.
Please note, the Zodiac boat is not suitable for children under 145cm or pregnant women.
The Black Fish
Covered Boat, up to 12 passengers
The whales don’t mind it when it is a little wet outside and neither do our boats. If you prefer, you can enjoy the trip in our covered boat.
The Ultimate Adventure is the best value for a private group of up to 6 passengers.
Set out for the ultimate west coast adventure with your own private boat and guide. Drop a crab trap on the way out and depart on the quest for an intimate wildlife experience. Check out the exciting open water, before cruising through islands into the stillness and serenity of the Tofino Inlet.
Visit Wanachus-Hilthuuis (Meares Island) Tribal Park and The Big Tree Trail, a Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation’s flagship visitor experience. Afterwards retrieve your crab traps before returning to the dock.***
Pricing 2025: $1000 (+ taxes + fees) for 4 adults. Additional passengers will be $150 per person.
Capacity: 6 Adults max.
Crabbing + Prawning: You are welcome to take home any fresh crab or prawns caught, or speak to our neighbors at Naas Seafoods about processing options.

We are respectful of the current regulations and stay at a 100 meter distance. Sometimes though, as whales are curious animals, they swim closer to us but we always try our best to not disturb them if we can.
Cancellation Policy
- Private Trips (e.g., Ultimate Adventure, Fishing Charters, Floating Sauna Experience):
Full refund or credit if cancelled with at least 1 week’s notice.
No refunds if cancelled within 1 week of the trip. - Public Trips (e.g., Hot Springs, Whale Watching, Wildlife Tours, Bear Watching, Kayak):
Full refund or credit if cancelled with at least 48 hours’ notice.
No refunds if cancelled within 48 hours of the trip. - Operator Cancellations:
Full refund or credit if we cancel due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
We’ll assist in finding alternative options if needed. - No-Shows:
Charged the full price.
