This much-loved West Coast celebration is back and bigger than ever, bringing together oysters, bubbles, live music, costumes, and community spirit. Whether you’re a longtime Oyster Fest fan or a first-time guest, this year promises a spe-shell experience you won’t forget.
More Than Just a Party
While Oyster Fest is known for its high-energy events and world-class shucking, this year we’re adding a deeper layer of purpose. Oyster Fest 2025 will double as a fundraiser, supporting two incredible local organizations:
Redd Fish Restoration Society: restoring wild salmon and healthy watersheds in Clayoquot Sound.
Food Bank on the Edge: supporting local families with access to nutritious food.
It’s the perfect blend of party and purpose — a weekend to indulge, dance, and give back.
Looking Back at Oyster Fest 2024
Last year’s festival set the bar high:
Judges’ Choice went to Ombré, with their unforgettable creation of fresh-shucked oyster, wagyu tartar, sofrito, and mustard ice cream.
People’s Choice was awarded to Taste of Tofino for their oyster topped with spicy sesame aioli, ponzu pickled ginger, Szechuan puffed wild rice, and green onions.
And in a thrilling finish, Chris Manocchio defended his title to become the three-time Shucking Champion.
We can’t wait to see what delicious creations and nail-biting competitions await in 2025.
Weekend Highlights
Mermaid’s Ball on Friday, November 21 at the Tofino Community Hall
Kick off the festival in style at the Mermaid’s Ball, an elegant costume party inspired by Oyster Fest’s rich history. Expect live shucking, bubbly drinks, and classic rock tunes before a late-night set by DJ Jess Rabit. Prizes await the best costumes — so bring your most creative, ocean-inspired looks!
Oyster Festival Gala on Saturday, November 22 at the Tofino Community Hall
An intimate, cocktail-style evening featuring Tofino’s top chefs, who will compete for the title of Best Tofino Oyster 2025. Guests enjoy a welcome drink, live music, and plenty of time to mingle and dance. New this year: a live auction, with proceeds supporting our featured local charities.
Shucker’s Showdown on Sunday, November 23 at the Tofino Community Hall
The grand finale! Champion shuckers go head-to-head in this fast-paced, family-friendly competition. Cheer on your favourites, learn tips from the pros, or join in the Amateur Shucking contest. A perfect Sunday Funday closer to an unforgettable weekend.
