Fly to Tofino-Long Beach Airport (YAZ)
Scheduled flights are available via Pacific Coastal Airlines from Vancouver (YVR), with private charters also connecting YAZ to Vancouver and the Pacific Northwest through carriers like Kenmore Air and San Juan Airlines. For U.S. travelers, Kenmore Air offers direct charter flights from Seattle.
Ferries
If you want to travel to Vancouver Island by ferry—and want to bring your vehicle to Tofino—there are various routes and services departing both from Mainland BC and Washington State.

Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay)Tsawwassen is south of Vancouver near the USA border, and a good option if you are driving up from mainland Washington. You will dock at Swartz Bay, which is 30 minutes north of Victoria. Simply follow the BC-17 highway south, then take exit 7 McKenzie to get onto the Trans Canada Highway/BC-1 and follow the driving directions from Victoria.

Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Nanaimo (Duke Point)
This route goes from Tsawwassen to Duke Point, which is just south of Nanaimo. The boat ride is longer, but it will shave off some driving time if you don’t need to route through Victoria.

The Horseshoe Bay terminal is north of Vancouver and arrives in Departure Bay in Nanaimo.

Port Angeles (M.V. Coho terminal) to Victoria (M.V. Coho terminal)
Black Ball Ferry Line operates the M.V. Coho passenger and vehicle ferry linking Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island with Port Angeles, WA, on the scenic Olympic Peninsula. It is the most direct ferry crossing between Victoria and the United States, with daily, year-round service provided.

Seattle (Pier 69) to Victoria (Belleville Terminal)
The Seattle to Victoria Clipper ferry ride connects the United States with Vancouver Island. The Victoria Clipper ferry ride to Victoria takes 2 hours and 45 minutes, traveling directly between Pier 69 in downtown Seattle and the Belleville Terminal in downtown Victoria, BC’s Inner Harbour.

Driving
The route to Tofino is one of the most scenic routes in Canada with amazing landmarks along the way. Whether it be winter or summer, ensure you stay up to date on. A complimentary electric vehicle (EV) charging station is available for guest use on site; Tesla adaptors are also available.

Driving from Nanaimo or Comox to Tofino (3 Hours)Get onto Highway 19 N and make your way to exit 60, onto Highway 4 West (aka the Pacific Rim Highway). Drive 156 km. Cathedral Grove, a gorgeous old-growth rainforest, is definitely worth a stop. Travel westward through Port Alberni and Sutton Pass until you reach the Tofino and Ucluelet junction. The roadways get a little bit narrow and windy through the pass—please be cautious. Take extra care in wet/snowy weather.
Turn right at the Tofino/Ucluelet junction and drive north towards Tofino for 28 km, which takes you through Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, a UNESCO site. Once you’re through the park, carry on into town, where highway 4 turns into Campbell Road. Pass Neilson Place, and our Tofino Resort + Marina is on the right. -
Driving from Victoria to Tofino (4–4.5 Hours)
Get onto the Trans Canada Highway/BC-1. After approximately 105 km, make a left at Nanaimo Parkway/Highway 19 and keep north for the next 43 km.
Take Exit 60 onto Highway 4 West (aka the Pacific Rim Highway), and drive 156 km. Cathedral Grove, a gorgeous old-growth rainforest, is definitely worth a stop. Buses on Vancouver IslandThere are two main bus services operating on Vancouver Island.
Islandlink is designed to serve as a connector for Horseshoe Bay/Departure Bay foot passengers and carries over 75,000 passengers a year, operates up to 16 buses all equipped with free wifi. Buses are clean and comfortable with seat belts on every seat. Baggage allowance is only limited by the amount you can carry.
Vancouver Island Connector has been in operation since 2015 providing seasonal services to the entire island from Victoria to Campbell River. The VI Connector & Tofino Bus services areas between Victoria, Duncan, Nanaimo, Parksville, Port Alberni, Ucluelet, and Tofino.

Free Shuttle
The Tofino Free Shuttle is a free summer service between Tofino’s Village core and Long Beach in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Riders can hop on and off at any stop along the route. Click here to view options for the Tofino free shuttle, running late June to September.
