Here’s our version of romance, Tofino-style.

Tofino isn’t your average couples getaway. It’s not rose petals on the bed and matching white robes (though we’ve got those too, if you’re into it). It’s rugged. It’s west coast. It’s the kind of place where connection comes naturally whether it’s over a beach bonfire, on a foggy morning trail walk, or while floating in the middle of the ocean watching whales breach beside you.

Wake Up Somewhere Worth Waking Up In

There’s something about waking up together with a view of the Tofino Inlet, seaplanes cruising in, and eagles flying overhead. It hits different. Our rooms are cozy and coastal, just the right mix of comfort and character.

Bonus: the adventure starts right outside your door.

Share a Little Adventure

The best memories usually start with a little adventure. In Tofino, “romantic” doesn’t always mean candlelit dinners. It can mean floating in the middle of the ocean or hiking through the rainforest to a steaming hot spring. These are a few of our most romantic adventures—each one special enough to be the highlight of your trip.

  • Remote Floating Sauna: Tucked away in the quiet of the inlet, this off-grid sauna is all yours. Warm up, cool off in the ocean, then sink into a hammock with a blanket or paddle out together. There’s a fire, a rope swing, and no one else around, just the two of you.
  • Remote Kayaking Tour: Boat to the secluded, remote, calm waters of the Tofino Inlet where you will find our kayak dock. Paddle into quiet coves, past old-growth forests, and along island shorelines. No crowds, no noise, just you two, your guide, and seals, sea lions, otters, eagles, and even the occasional black bear or orca! Finish off the tour by jumping off the dock into the ocean!
  • Hot Springs Cove Tour: Boat to a remote boardwalk trail through the rainforest that leads to geothermal hot springs right on the edge of the ocean. Rugged and warm, it’s the ultimate soak-with-a-view.
  • The Ultimate Adventure: Want to do it all? This full-day experience combines wildlife watching, natural wonders, and off-the-beaten-path stops into one unforgettable trip. It’s like The Notebook meets National Geographic.
  • Bear or whale watching: It’s you, the sea, and some of the most incredible animals on the coast. Trust us, seeing a humpback breach or a mama bear and her cubs is something you’ll talk about for years.
Cozy Up Après-Adventure

After a day out in the wild, the best thing is coming back to a warm meal and a cold drink. Shelter Restaurant’s got you covered: local seafood, cozy indoor vibes, and a firepit patio for sunset watching. And hey, nothing says “we’re on vacation” like oysters and a bottle of wine.

Tofino ‘Staples’ for Couples
  • Big Tree Trail on Meares Island: Our captains can drop you off on a mossy boardwalk through ancient rainforest that feels like a mystical fairy garden. It’s peaceful, jaw-dropping, and one of the few places where time feels like it actually slows down. Bring snacks, walk slow.
  • Biking Chesterman Beach at Sunset: Rent cruisers in town and ride the stretch from North Chesterman to South as the sky does its thing. Low tide gives you miles of packed sand to coast on, and there’s just something about biking barefoot that feels like summer love.
  • Dinner at Wolf in the Fog: Cozy, creative, and consistently delicious. It’s a go-to for date night in Tofino. Share a bunch of small plates (get the potato crusted oysters, trust), order the cocktail with the weirdest name, and soak it all in.
  • A Walk (or Kiss) on the Tonquin Trail: It’s short, sweet, and full of quiet viewpoints. You’ll find benches tucked into the trees, rocky overlooks, and little beaches that are usually empty. Early mornings or golden hour are best.
  • Picnic at the Point: Pick up sandwiches, pack a blanket, and head to the end of the peninsula: Tonquin, Mackenzie, or even the little grassy lookout by the lighthouse. It doesn’t need to be fancy. Food tastes better with a view and someone to share it with.
  • Schooner Restaurant: A Tofino classic. Think: seafood towers, local halibut, cozy booths, and waterfront nostalgia. Bonus points if you sit on the upper deck when the sun’s out.
  • Savary Island Pie Company: A quiet café on the water’s edge that serves some of the best pie around. Grab a slice, sit on the dock out front, and watch boats drift by. Slow, simple, and kind of perfect.
Thinking of surprising your partner?

We can help with that too. Pro tips: book the sauna, pack a swimsuit, and maybe don’t tell them everything you’ve planned. A little mystery goes a long way.
