At Tofino Resort + Marina, we respectfully live and play inside the ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ – Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation.
NAAʔUU, a limited event series, is a new Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation initiative designed to engage visitors with Tla-o-qui-aht culture through food, art, song and dance. You are invited to gather inside the Tin Wis conference centre which has been transformed to look and feel like a traditional longhouse.
Named after a Nuu-chah-nulth word that translates to “come together” and “feast,” naaʔuu includes a delicious dinner that celebrates traditional coastal cuisine. The event includes Tla-o-qui-aht drumming, songs, and presentations including specially produced performance masks along with a west coast inspired menu. Salmon, shellfish, vegetarian, and other locally inspired cuisine from the Heartwood Kitchen and Tla-o-qui-aht food suppliers await ticket buyers.
The three-hour event, will run over multiple evenings in March:
