This September 20th – 22nd 2019, Fish for the Future will return to Tofino. This catch-and-release salmon tournament is hosted by Tofino Resort + Marina. The tournament will benefit the Fish for the Future Foundation, with 100% of all revenue, dollar for dollar, going toward wild salmon protection & research projects. The Fish for the Future Foundation is managed by the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust

Kids fish for free

In an effort to support the future fishermen and women of the Clayoquot Sound, the 2019 tournament will allow kids age 12 and under to participate for free. Children must be properly supervised by an adult.

Friday, Sept. 20th

7:00am – 8:00pm: Angler registration, Marine Adventure Centre at Tofino Resort + Marina
5:00pm – late: Bingo kick off party with live music

*Bingo starts at 6:00pm

Saturday, Sept. 21st

6:00am – 7:00am: Complimentary buffet breakfast, 1909 Kitchen
8:00am: Derby shotgun start. Weigh-in’s will take place on the water until 5:00pm.
6:00pm – 9:00pm: Dinner + silent auction, Upper Hatch. Includes Fish for the Future presentations.
8:30pm – Late: Cash bar

Sunday, Sept. 22nd

6:00am – 7:00am: Complimentary buffet breakfast, 1909 Kitchen
8:00am: Derby shotgun start. Weigh-in’s will take place on the water until 3:00pm.
4:00pm: Awards presentation & event wrap-up, Marine Adventure Centre courtyard

Prize Categories

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

Largest fish (male)

Largest fish (female)

Largest fish (junior up to the age of 12)

Winners will be given the opportunity to choose their prize from various items. The largest fish in the junior category will choose first, followed by the next biggest fish of the two categories, followed by the third. In the event of a tie, the fish that was caught first will choose first.
